The Harborplace Amphitheatre at the Inner Harbor in Downtown Baltimore
was transformed into a sea of purple as up to 25,000 members of the "Purple
and Black Nation" turned up on January 22 at 11a.m. to wish the
Baltimore Ravens good luck before they departed for Tampa Bay and Super Bowl XXXV.
The crowd of rowdy Ravens fans filled every square-inch of the
Amphitheatre and even took to the rooftops and balconies of businesses
along Pratt Street to catch a glimpse of their Ravens. One lucky group
of fans was able to watch the send-off rally from the deck of the USS
Constellation in the harbor.
After the crowd was entertained by the Ravens Cheerleaders and Mascot,
Edgar, the entire Ravens Team arrived at 11:30a.m. to an eruption of
cheers and signs that read "Ravens Rock". Mayor O'Malley introduced
Governor Glendening who addressed the crowd and called the Ravens fans "
the best in the entire country." Art Modell and Coach Brian Billick
also spoke to the crowd, both promising to "bring back what we want and what
you all want (from Tampa)."
Shannon Sharpe, Ray Lewis, and Tony Siragusa also spoke at the rally.
Lewis led the crowd in his traditional pre-game "What time is it?" cheer
and Sharpe proclaimed that "Next Sunday about 9p.m., get ready to
celebrate (again) because we'll be World Champions."
Catch the Ravens Sweepstakes Winner, Beverley Terry (left), is pictured at
Sun Devil Stadium with her sister, Diane Kulp, prior to the Ravens game
versus the Arizona Cardinals. Beverley correctly located ten Ravens 2000
billboards across Maryland and was selected from over 1200 entries in the
2000 Catch the Ravens Sweepstakes. As the winner, Beverley received two
tickets to the Arizona game and traveled to Arizona on the Ravens team
charter.
The Baltimore Ravens' touchdown duo of Shannon Sharpe and Trent Dilfer
took a time-out on Tuesday night, November 21 to attend the 15th Annual Chevy
Chase Bank Tennis Challenge hosted by Pam Shriver . The charity event at
the Baltimore Arena, raised over $300,000 for the Baltimore Community
Foundation and area children's charities.
Sharpe and Dilfer were guest coaches in the Orioles Challenge Match that
featured Pete Sampras and Brady Anderson versus Todd Martin and Jerry
Hairston. The Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders along with Mascot Poe were
also there to perform in front of the record 12,000-plus crowd that attended
the event.

The ESPNZone in Baltimore was transformed into Shannon Sharpe's Halloween
playground on the evening of October 30. The party was a rousing success,
with several hundred costumed guests, including dozens of Ravens players.
Among the notable costumes worn by Ravens' players were Edwin Mulitalo as
Elvis, Ray Lewis as a Baltimore County firefighter, and Brad Jackson as a
drag queen. Sharpe went as Austin Powers. Some attendees were winners in
the Pepsi Parade of Fools contest held at PSINet Stadium prior to the
Steelers game the day before. Sharpe held several auctions during the
evening, and those bids, as well as ticket proceeds, helped raise money
for Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake.
