ATHLETE OF THE WEEK |

What
Each week (for 17 weeks) a male and a female Baltimore area high school athlete will be selected and honored as a Ravens Champions Athlete of the Week for his and her athletic achievements and excellence.
Who
All Baltimore area high school (grades 9-12) athletes are eligible.*
When
Each week for the 17 weeks of the NFL regular season (corresponding with the Ravens� 16 games and one bye), the World Champion Baltimore Ravens and Wendy�s will recognize two Ravens Champions.
All nominations are due no later than Sunday of each week at 6:00pm (see specific nomination deadlines on Ravens Champions Athlete of the Week Nomination Schedule), beginning September 2, and ending on December 16, 2001.
The selected Ravens Champions will be notified the following Monday, beginning September 3, and ending on December 17, 2001.
How
Each Baltimore area athletic director, with his/her coaching staff, may nominate two student athletes per week (one male and one female) by faxing the completed candidate nomination form provided in the Ravens Champions-Guide 2001.
Benefits
$250 donation to the athlete�s high school athletic department on behalf of the Ravens and Wendy�s
An official Ravens Champions Athlete of the Week Certificate signed by Super Bowl XXXV Winning Head Coach Brian Billick
Two tickets to the last Baltimore Ravens home game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on December 23, 2001, where all Ravens Champions will be invited to participate in an on-field presentation
Recognition of the selected athlete and his/her school will be sent to major sports writers, TV and radio stations in weekly press releases.
Highlights will be on the Ravens Champions page on the official World Champion Baltimore Ravens website at www.RavensZone.net.
